a communal rooftop terrace with views of the old harbor and the rest of Barceloneta
This recently refurbished 35m2 (380 SQ. ft) apartment is situated on the top floor of a 5 story building with a traditional, simple staircase, very typical to those youll find in Barceloneta. The climb up the stairs is worth it since you are one of the few habitants of the building who will actually make use of the communal terrace which is just one flight up from the apartment.
The terrace view of the Old harbor (Port Vell) and the Barceloneta roof lines make the apartment a perfect location to relax and enjoy a late night summer drink or dinner. Enter the apartment and youll discover the interior is done with vision and style; Waxed earth tones and wooden beams supporting the ceiling complement original hand painted floor tiles and sandy grey walls in a luminous interior which makes optimal use of its available space; with just 35m2 of floor space the distribution of the apartment is very efficient and stylish with a lounge area, a sofa, a dining area with a table for 4 and a spacious bedroom with plenty of storage space. The bathroom is particularly sweet since the architect spent days collecting pebbles on the Barceloneta Beach to complete his Gaudi- esque mosaic on the walls and floors of the shower and lavatory.
The overall feel of the apartment is tranquil, luminous and spacious. Making this an ideal location to get away from it all and still be near the area with the most active nightlife of the city.

The apartment is located in the old fishermans quarter of Barcelona called Barceloneta. A short walk from the city centre, Barceloneta seems like a village in its own right. This manmade extension to the seafront was constructed to house the dislodged residents of La Ribera when the Ciutadella fortress (now transformed into the wonderful Ciutadella Park) was built in the XVIII century.
Nowadays, the oceans breeze blows through the narrow streets stirring up the laundry hanging from the balconies. Images of neighbors chatting with each other on street corners in the early afternoon provide a typical reflection of the local life, which many say is the most authentic of the city. You will find a lively, village- like atmosphere with a good choice of (mostly) seafood restaurants, tapas and fishermans bars.
Barceloneta is situated alongside the beach and about 5 minutes walking to the Ciutadella Park and the cultural and hip El Born neighborhood (with the Picasso museum, many designer shops and clubs, etc).
From your doorstep you can also take a walk along the Paseig Colom and the Old Harbor towards the famous Las Ramblas with its human statues, portrait artists and flower sellers.
The beach is literally down the street where you can stroll along the lively boulevard leading to the Port Olímpic and beyond towards the citys beaches and the new build Forum center.
Close to the apartment, you will find:
the Maremagnum entertainment area with the citys Sea Aquarium
the Baroque church San Miguel del Portand the "Torre de Sant Sebastiá", where you can take the cable car to Montjuďc.
the Port Olímpic with many nightclubs, restaurants, the citys Casino and the Icaria cinema center showing original movies (instead of dubbed ones).
the beach with its 5 km long boulevard leading all the way to the newly built Forum.
Las Ramblas, the finest and most famous street of Barcelona with hundreds of street vendors, restaurants bars and shops
the Boqueria, the beautiful and famous food market
Parc Ciutadella housing several Museums, the Zoo, a fantastic green area where you can walk, rent bicycles, as well as listen to open air jazz concerts and African drum gatherings in the weekend
the old harbor; Port Vell and the Marina are across the street
a public parking area
the subway stop Barceloneta and several bus stops
a surf board and sail boat rental company
