Mallaig is a busy fishing village with a swimming pool, Heritage Centre, Marine World and numerous shops.
From here you can sail over the sea to Skye on one of the frequent ferry crossings and be back in time for dinner.
Boat trips are also possible from Mallaig to Knoydart and the islands of Eigg, Rum, Muck & Canna.
Other cruises to the Small Isles are available from Arisaig (7 miles away).
Arisaig and Mallaig have numerous restaurants and bars where you can enjoy fresh local seafood and produce.
A 5 minute walk from the cottage will take you to a small sandy beach.
You can also explore the Silver Sands of Morar (photo right), Camusdarach & Traigh which are all within 3 - 5 miles.
Traigh also has a 9 hole golf course.
There are ample opportunities for walking and during the summer months there is a guided walks programme with our local ranger.
