| The Barn Annex at Westcourt Farm

Location: Situated on the edge of the country village of Shalbourne, on the borders of Wiltshire and Berkshire 9 miles from Hungerford junction off the M4. The Barn has been expertly and sensitively converted from one end of our old Stable Range and is linked to the main Grade II * listed farmhouse, which itself has origins in the early 14th century.
Although we no longer run a working farm we keep geese and chickens and have reverted our arable fields to wildflower meadows, around which there are footpaths for walking.
Visitors are welcome to share our heated outdoor swimming pool during the summer months at our convenience or play tennis on the local court.
The Barn is also centrally placed for exploring an historic part of southern England, Winchester, Salisbury, Bath, Oxford and Windsor all being within an hour’s drive. Closer to Shalbourne are the local market towns of Hungerford and Marlborough, both well known for their antique shops, the ancient stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge, the Kennet & Avon Canal (narrow boat trips) and the Savernake Forest. London is over an hour by train from Great Bedwyn (2 miles with free parking) and junction 14 of the M4 is approx. 7 miles.
Accommodation: Private entrance with carport from rear of the Barn into sitting/dining room with electric ‘woodburning effect’ stove. Compact but very well equipped fitted kitchen. Small lobby for coats etc. Downstairs w.c. Carpeted stairs to landing with exposed timberwork, large walk-in cupboard and space for single folding bed etc. Bedroom with 5ft double bed. En suite bathroom/wc with shower attachment on the bath.
Enclosed garden area with table/lounger chairs with access to the swimming pool.
Services: Electric central heating inc. in rent May – Sept., otherwise at cost by meter payable on departure.Telephone line also available payable at cost on dep. Bed linen, towels & hot water inc.in rent (not swimming towels) Cleaning not included but can be arranged weekly at £8 per hour. Cot/folding bed.
Additional B&B accommodation available in main farmhouse.
Colour TV/video with digital box, nb. ITV channels are not available. Auto. washing machine/tumble dryer. Small microwave. Fridge/freezer. Water softener.
Village shop & pub 170 yards away. One well behaved dog welcome (N.B owners have small dog) Non-smokers only. Not suitable for children except babies.
