Three miles as the crow flies, from the spectacular Ceredigion Marine Heritage coastal footpath and four miles down quiet country lanes to the National Trust beach at Cwmtydu and the sandy beaches of the small seaside village of Llangrannog. Atlantic Seal and Bottlenose Dolphin are frequently seen along this coast. In autumn, one can sometimes watch baby seals playing on the rocks at Cwmtydu.

Idyllically situated on a 25 acre smallholding, with a small lake containing native brown trout and rudd and a stream meandering through our garden valley, Glyntawel Cottage is a traditional beamed, stone and slate three bedroomed cottage, sleeping up to 6 nonsmokers, in one double, one twin bedded room and a bunk bedroom with full sized bunk beds. It is attached at right angles to our family home, Glyngarw, but is totally separate and self-contained, with a pretty, private patio, garden furniture, stonebuilt barbecue and fenced in playfield. Your privacy is paramount, but we are available should you need us.

Large areas of Glyngarw are left un-grazed and uncut to encourage insects, butterflies, small mammals and birds. From late winter there are carpets of snowdrops and daffodils, with abundant wild flowers in spring and summer. We have seen badger, stoat, rabbit, fox, heron, red-kite, buzzard and merlin on or over our land.

The cottage is warm and cosy at any time of year, having a woodburner, (free logs provided), and oil-fired Rayburn for the cooler weather, which requires no attention from guests, keeping the cottage warm even during a power cut. It is equally suitable for couples seeking solitude, families of all ages or groups of singles looking for a base for an activity holiday.

The cottage is well equipped with two showers, two toilets, an electric oven and hob, a microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/drier, small CD player / tape deck / radio, TV with Teletext, video, numerous books for all ages, Lego, board games, jigsaws and a few videos. We also provide an assortment of bats, balls and nets for games on the playfield. Noise is never a problem!

A child's cot, highchair, baby listening equipment, fireguard, safety gates at the top and bottom of the stairs and night lights are available.

Guests will need to provide their own towels, tea-towels and if using the cot provided, will need to bring any cot bedding and cot linen that might be required.

Fresh flowers, the woodburner laid ready for a match and beds made up, welcome you on your arrival.
Guests of at least a week also receive a substantial 'Welcome Pack' of 4 pints of milk, tea, sugar, a loaf, butter, marmalade and six eggs.

Throughout the year, except in peak school holidays, we offer SHORT BREAKS and a 20% DISCOUNT on the full week price if only one bedroom is made up (a child in a cot can be accommodated in the upstairs bedroom without losing the discount)and a 10% discount if two bedrooms are made up.
ALL YEAR 10% additional discount for TWO WEEK BOOKINGS
All prices include heating, electricity and logs for the woodburner (should you wish to light it)

Please note that this is a NON-SMOKING cottage and that we are UNABLE TO ACCEPT PETS.

Please visit our WEBSITE which shows availability and rates and also contains much detailed information about our accommodation, facilities and locality. There are also interior and exterior photos of the cottage and grounds with relevant information on the photopages.

We live in a very special area of West Wales and look forward to welcoming our guests, but we respect their privacy at all times.
