Blythburgh is a small village on the River Blyth three miles inland from the sea at Southwold and Walberswick. Surrounded by salt marshes and large inland flood plain, it is famous for its church known locally as the 'Cathedral of the Marshes'. Aldeburgh, the famous bird sanctuary at Minsmere and the 'sunken' city of Dunwich are close by. The 15th Century cottage, run as a holiday home for the last fourteen years includes a separate entrance leading to a drive and enclosed garden.
