The cottage is a fully restored and modernized farmhouse, with the original pine floors and an open peat fireplace. It is located on an elevated location overlooking Portmagee Harbor. A large walled-in front yard is well suited for small children. Portmagee village, an easy walk from the cottage, is an active fishing village with pubs, restaurants and a foodstore. Traditional music and set-dancing are scheduled frequently in the local pubs. Portmagee is only seven miles from the Ring of Kerry, and there are lots of destinations within easy reach. Outside activities abound in the area -- walking along the coast or up in the hills, bicycling, angling, car-touring, golf, bird-watching, pony-trekking, visits to historic sites, and many more. Boat trips to the Skelligs depart from Portmagee daily.
