There are also a number of Forest Parks, in Co. Cavan, which include Killykeen, near Cavan town, and Dún na Rí, near Kingscourt.
Apart from the natural beauty of this area, there are also many monuments giving an insight to Ireland's exciting past, from the Stone Age, through the Middle Ages and to the present day. To Truly understand this rich history, a visit to Cavan's County Meauseum, in BallyJamesDuff, is a must. The Boyne Valley in County Meath, is also located close to Roebuck House. This area was once the capital of Celtic Ireland, and has an abundance of Stone and Bronze Age monuments, including Newgrange, which is older than the great pyramids of Egypt.
