The sitting room has a wood-burning stove and stone fireplace, as well as TV, video and radio/CD player/Tape player. The fully equipped kitchen-diner includes an in-built cooker, washer-dryer, dishwasher and microwave. Both the downstairs rooms have flagstone floors.
Stairs from the sitting room lead to the first floor, where you will find comfortable bedrooms with old beams and sloping ceilings.
The master bedroom has a king size pine double bed, the second bedroom has twin divans. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower.
The east end of the property is formed from a high wall which is at least 200 years old and was used for playing an early version of the game of fives.
North Cheriton is a small village designated as a conservation area. It is an ideal base for walking with lots of circular walks using country lanes and footpaths. The local pub is within 3/4 mile.
Local attractions include the market town of Sherborne with its Abbey and two Castles, the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton, Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford, and Shaftesbury with the famous Gold Hill. There are many National Trust properties in the area including Stourhead with its gardens designed by Capability Brown. At Longleat there is the famous safari park as well as a beautiful stately home and garden. Nearby are the Bath & West Showground at Shepton Mallet, and Wincanton Racecourse.
Further afield there are are some lovely sandy beaches, Weymouth, Swanage and Lyme Regis to name a few, and West Bay is great for sea angling.
