The Forest of Dean is an important area of nature conservation with numerous Nature Reserves; an excellent one close to Soudley is The RSPB Nags Head Nature Reserve. Symonds Yat, the famous beauty spot on the River Wye with its Peregrine Falcon lookout, is a short distance away. This is run by a dedicated team of RSPB wardens who are on hand to provide information.
