The apartments are 70m from a local viewpoint, 100m away from the nearest coffee bar; also across the road from the coffee bar there is a fruit and vegetables store and 250m from a well-stocked mini market where you can purchase local fresh bread in the morning and again at 4pm in the afternoon.
Located below Casa Serena is a hotel which is open to non- residences there is a path way down to the hotel, around 10 minute walk, the village of Arco da Calheta is a 15 minute walk where you will find a post office, café bars, chemist and varies shops.
A five minute drive will take you to the village of Calheta with its new golden sand beaches and a marina. You can take a boat trip to see the dolphins and whales, or fish, swim, sail,enjoy the local cuisine in the restaurants overlooking the marina.You will also find a hotel, supermarket, shops or you can visit the sugar cane factory where you can sample the aguardente, liquors, bola da mel (honey cake) and much more.
Walking in Madeira. We are located close to some of the best lavada walks (water channels with foot paths) and only a five minute drive to the closed walk, where you can walk round the valley of Arco and marvel at the stunning views down to Madelana do Mar
On the opposite side of the valley you will find a para-gliding school where you can indulge on reaching new heights or you can stop off at the top of the hill where you will find a restaurant with a fantastic view from 460m above the sea
Located in Calheta close to the lavada walks, new golden sand beach and marina, where you can swim, fish, para-glide, surf or just relax in this warm corner of the island.
You can take a trip on the boat from Calheta along the coast to see the whales and dolphins
