Nestling at the foot of the Pennines and enjoying uninterrupted views of the Lakeland Fells, Milburn Grange is an excellent base for walking, cycling (we are on both the Pennine and Cumbrian cycle-ways), touring (York; Edinburgh; Hadrian’s Wall; Scottish Borders; Dales; Lakes), or relaxing. In addition, within easy access there are coarse fishing lakes, game fishing, 2 golf courses, and riding stables.
Our self-contained cottages (some beamed) have been converted from redundant barns and are ideal for a break at any time of the year. They are centrally heated, comfortably furnished and each has a fitted, fully equipped kitchen (microwave; oven; hob; fridge) and colour TV, two cottages have 4-poster beds and 2 have open fires. The three-bedroom cottages have a dishwasher and washing machine. Stable Cottage (2 bedrooms) also has a dishwasher. In addition, there is a washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and irons in a shared laundry room.
The cottages, surrounded by farmland, are set in their own grounds and benefit from having resident owner-operators (new owners in 2002). Nearby, there are two pubs, both of which serve good food and welcome children and, within walking distance there is a village store/Post Office/garage.
