Weeping Willow House has been recently refurbished to a high standard and can sleep 6 people in 3 bedrooms, or 8 people if two people sleep on the double sofa bed in the lounge. The 3 bedrooms consist of a master bedroom (with en-suite bathroom), double room and twin room. A cot is also available on request. Both bathrooms have a toilet, a bath and a powerful shower. There is also a small, separate study area outside the master bedroom.

Weeping Willow House is situated on the Thames Path, in the country village of Shiplake, 2 miles from Henley on Thames and within the Thames Valley and Chiltern Hills area of outstanding natural beauty. Two Canadian canoes are available to hire for fun-filled paddling in the beautiful countryside. River walks, bike rides and country pubs are also nearby.

Shiplake train station is 400 metres away where trains regularly depart for Henley on Thames (4 mins), Twyford (8 mins), Reading (21 mins) and London (45 mins on the fast train or an hour on the slower trains). The village has a shop, butcher and a couple of pubs.

There are plenty of canoe trips, delightful walks, bike rides and country pubs. Shiplake lock is a leisurely walk away where you can relax and watch the boats pass through. A little further up the hill is the picturesque 13th century parish church of St Mary's. The Baskerville Arms is 500 metres from Weeping Willow House and features in the Good Pub Guide. It has won various awards including AA Four Stars 2009, Visit Britain Four Stars and Silver Accolade 2009.

The area has a proud tradition of sculling, punting and canoeing. The Wargrave & Shiplake Regatta is the second largest on the Thames after the Henley Royal Regatta and the largest punt and skiff regatta in England. It takes place on the river between Shiplake and Wargrave each year in August. Other nearby regattas include Marlow Town, Hurley and Cookham. Boating enthusiasts can access the river at Shiplake lock or Shiplake green and small sailing boats can be seen 100 metres up the river from Shiplake green, where Henley Sailing club is situated.

Weeping Willow House is located on the Thames Path, the beautiful walk that attracts visitors from all over the country. The Thames Path winds east for 2 miles to Henley via fragrant meadows and the historical Marsh lock. Henley is home to the Henley Royal Regatta and the Henley Festival and has plenty of quaint shops, restaurants and pubs. In Henley you can hire canoes, enjoy a boat trip up the Thames, visit the River and Rowing Museum (home of the Wind in The Willows exhibition) or take in a play at the Kenton theatre (which is the fourth oldest in England.) Henley can be also be easily reached by car or a 4 minute train journey, excellent for a night out.

The Thames Path winds west via Shiplake lock to the pretty village of Sonning. In Sonning you can take in dinner and a show at the mill converted into a theatre or enjoy fine dining on the banks of the River Thames at the French Horn.

Shiplake has had some notable residents including George Orwell and Antony Worrall Thompson. The church in Shiplake was where Alfred Lord Tennyson was married. Day trips could include the towns of Reading (7 miles), Windsor castle (15 miles), Didcot Railway Centre (21 miles) and the university town of Oxford (22 miles). All the vibrant sights and sounds of London (41 miles, 45 mins by fast train) are also but a short journey away. All of these can be reached by train from Shiplake station via Twyford. By car you could explore the beautiful countryside with its numerous country homes, estates and National Trust properties such as: Greys Court; Stonor Park; Cliveden; Westcombe Park; and Hughenden. Golf courses are plentiful and nearby sports venues include Ascot, Newbury and Windsor racecourses.

Mar-April 2011: £500 per week, 3 nights minimum, £85 per night midweek, £105 per night weekend

Easter & May 2011: minimum of 1 week rental,£625 per week

Summer 2011: minimum of 1 week rental, £675 per week (except Henley Regatta which is £1000 per week and Henley Festival which is £850 per week)
