Location
The property is situated on the edge of a working farm and near to a mountain river, in the elevated hamlet of Lingonie in the Languedoc National Park area of Tarn. This is an excellent area for walking, and for natural history enthusiasts. The Medieval walled city of Carcassonne and airport (direct flights from London Stanstead) is 50 minutes drive south. The coastal resorts of Beziers and Narbonne are 90 minutes drive and Toulouse (direct flights from Bristol, Southampton and east Midlands) is 90 minutes away.
Accommodation
The 3 storey, semi-detached stone built house has been tastefully restored. The spacious accommodation consists of two large double bedrooms. One bedroom with full en-suite will sleep two adults. The second bedroom will sleep two adults easily, plus a child. Both rooms have very generous clothes hanging/storage space. Large lounge/dining room with wood burning stove, comfortably furnished including dining table and equipped with TV and CD player. Spacious fully equipped kitchen, with fridge, microwave, gas cooker,oven and extractor hood. Separate second WC. Separate second shower room with wash basin and bidet. Large tiled sun terrace with furniture and BBQ. Full sized garage. The house has electric heating. A high chair and cot are provided. Linen & towels are provided.
Facilities
The village of Cambounes with shop is 10 minutes walk. The picturesque town of Castres with all amenities including local market is only a 25 minute scenic drive. Albi is an historic Cathar town with 13th century Cathedral & Toulouse Lautrec museum and is 45 minutes drive. Vineyards of Languedoc Roussillon, L'Aude and L'Herault are all within easy reach.
