Welcome to Casa de la Sol Saliente, a gorgeous single storey villa with stunning views across Lake .Vinuela and Mt. Maroma. The lakeside is just a stroll away, this really is a prime location and an excellent base for touring or relaxing. Set in well over 1 acre of private grounds with a gorgeous, private saline pool, the house enjoys privacy and tranquillity yet there are two excellent lakeside restaurants and a shop just 5 mins stroll away.
The Villa is reached via a private 100m drive that ensures easy access. It’s just the place to relax and unwind by the pool with a glass of chilled wine. The house is also ideal for touring and visiting the numerous little villages of the Axarquia as well as the historical Towns and Cities of Cordoba, Granada, Malaga, Sevilla, Antequera and Alhama de Granada. Yet just a 15 min drive away is the bustling seaside resort of Torre del Mar with it’s numerous bars, restaurants, shops, night clubs and Thursday Market. There is also a large out of town shopping centre with a huge supermarket and numerous shops before you enter Torre. Malaga Airport is around 45mins from the Villa and the drive is very direct and easy.
Also on hand are the Caretakers Ray and Marion who do an excellent job and who will meet and greet you and will only be a phone call away in case of an emergency.
The Immaculately Clean Accommodation Includes:
The Entrance hall is wide and has a cloakroom area and leads into all the rooms.
Sitting / Dining room is huge bright sunny room some 28'x 20’. There are spectacular views from all angles with the gorgeous, Saline Swimming Pool just steps away. The dining table comfortably seats 8 people and there is an open fire, Sky TV, dvd player, cd player and two super large, feather filled couches. A/C hot and cold.
The Kitchen is large, open plan and fully fitted and has all modern conveniences for up to 8 guests. With a cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine and lots of storage space.
The Bedrooms:
Bedroom 1 with King sized bed super sprung cumfilux divan bed and en suite shower room a/c with heater sliding doors and fabulous lake view.
Bedroom 2: King sized super sprung cumfilux divan bed with lovely country mountain views a/c with heater.
Bedroom 3: Family Bedroom with three single beds. There is also a put you up bed should you have an extra person.
Bathroom: The Family bathroom has a bath with shower overhead, wash hand basin, WC and bidet. There is also a tumble dryer for the odd wet winter day.
Ensuite Shower Room: WC, Bidet, wash hand basin Shower.
Bed linen is fully inclusive in your stay and the house can be cleaned and the linen can be changed for a charge weekly if you wish to have an extended stay.
Outside:
There is an acre of private grounds to wander and explore. There is a garden area with flowers and shrubs, an orchard area, and loads of space for ball games. There is ample room for a barbeque by the pool. The pool is large and attractively shaped with easy access low steps at the far end. There are only one or two neighbours within 50m and neither are directly overlooking or at least are far enough away not to notice. This is not the usual off plan urbanised property, and yet offers restaurant facilities and is an easy 5 mins stroll to the lake side. The fishing is good and licences can be obtained locally.
The pool (10m x 6) is saline which means no horrid chlorine smells or blond hair turning green. The air-conditioning is top of the range and alternates as the central heating system in winter. The house is particularly suitable for the elderly as internally it is all on one level with just two steps down to be poolside.
Surrounded by wonderful touring and walking country, yet just 15 mins drive to the bustling seaside town of Torre del Mar. There is just so much to do, see and explore with the grand historical cities of Granada, Cordoba and Seville all within a days trip. There are numerous quaint little villages with restaurants and bars close by in the fabulous Axarquia National Park, and along the Costa del Sol. With a vast choice of activities to locally to enjoy such as horseback riding, scuba diving, rock climbing, cycling, hiking, fishing to name just a few there is never a chance of being bored. But then why not just relax by the pool with a good book and a full glass?
From Malaga Airport follow the motorway towards Almeria, until you get to the slip road for Torre del Mar and Velez Malaga go around the roundabout beneath the motorway heading inland, pass Velez Malaga keeping on the A356 for around 9 km then cross the dam with the fabulous lake to the right and about 2 km further on the right hand side you will see the El Pantano Restaurant and the El Camping Restaurant.
Walking, horse riding, fishing (don't forget your licence) rock climbing, off-roading, cycling and hiking around the National Park is excellent and a visit to El Torcal is well worth a trip, the walks are easy around this fabulous natural feature. Drop into Antequera for lunch and to see the museums and art galleries (NOT MONDAYS), shops and bars. There are numerous watersports at Torre del Mar and Caleta and a Water Park available at Torre del Mar. Scuba diving both at Torre and Torrox Costa on the way to Nerja.
The Nerja Caves are pretty spectacular and if you get the chance to book a concert then don't hesitate. Nerja is an interesting town to visit stop off at one of the beach side restaurants along the coast road back in Torrox. Don’t forget the huge Sunday flea market in Nerja too as well as the regular markets to be found in every town locally.
An excellent day out is Granada, the Alhambra, General Life and Gardens needs booking but is worth it, especially the Palace of the Nazarrenes. However the dead heat of Granada mid day is to be avoided.
A different tour is to the quaint old town of Alhama de Granada with its’ stunning gorges, drive up through the Zafaria Pass opposite the Villa and enter a higher plateau of offering a different landscape. Have lunch in the Plaza at Alhama and after a stroll around and a visit to the main sites of interest, stop off at the Roman Spa then take the road towards Aluminacar. This route offers the most amazing descent down to the Coast. After passing though an innocuous pine forrest and country park you will suddenly be confronted by the most stunning view down towards the distant sea. Return via the motorway or if you have the energy along the scenic old Coast Road to Torre del Mar and then inland and home.
There is always the Fabulous Historical Cities of Malaga, Seville and Cordoba to visit to, just under a couple of hours drive it is worth leaving early.
If you like clubbing just to along to the east end of the Torre del Mar sea front, there are numerous beach front restaurants and ice cream parlours too.
It's well worth a drive to the Lecrin Valley which has become a mecca for alternative health therapies and crafts.
Then there is the Rhonda the fantastic cliff top inland town famous for its ancient bridge and buildings, closer to home we have our own mini Rhonda just up the road visit Comares up in the clouds or closer to God.
Locally there are numerous little villages and towns to explore such as Vinuela, Alcaucin, Periana Canillas de Acietuno, Salares, Alfarnete, Mondron, Rio Gordo. Velez Malaga is known as the Capital of the Axarquia.
There are just so many amazingly diverse things to do and see.
