Gruissan is a beautifully landscaped resort full of flowers, palm trees and laurier rose bushes with a chic new marina, old port, and a lagoon famous for its pink flamingoes. There’s a huge choice of restaurants specializing in delicious local seafood; beautiful sandy beaches and delightful walks across the rugged hills. Narbonne is 15kms inland and castles, canyons, lakes, rivers and sleepy medieval villages surrounded by vineyards await discovery. The apartment sleeps 6.
Gruissan is one of the liveliest and most attractive resorts in this part of the Mediterranean. The 13th century Barbarossa Tower stands guard over the old fishing village and is best viewed from the lagoon where pink flamingoes flit across the calm water against a stunning backdrop of hills and mountains. The main resort surrounds the marina and yacht harbour and in addition to shops and supermarkets offers a huge choice of excellent cafes, bars, and restaurants specializing in delicious platters of local seafood. There is an outdoor cinema within walking distance and for the more adventurous a casino with an excellent restaurant and live music. Just outside the town is a nightclub for those who still have enough energy to dance the night away. There is a small sandy beach a few minutes’ walk from the apartments and numerous others a few minutes’ drive away for swimming, sailing and windsurfing. Tennis courts are just around the corner. The nearby Massif de la Clape offers a chance for both casual and serious walkers to enjoy the cool wooded hills of this rugged natural park noted for its rare orchids and exotic birdlife. Climb high enough and you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Mediterranean coastline and the Pyrenees on the border with Spain.
Apartment Miramar is in a prime position on the Rive Gauche and offers spacious accommodation on three levels comprising three bedrooms, one double, one twin and one with bunk beds; dining area and large kitchen with split-level hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge/freezer. Two balconies overlook the marina. On the top floor is a large lounge with comfortable seating and a third balcony with spectacular views across the marina to the Mediterranean. The secluded swimming pool complex has a large main pool, a smaller pool for children and is reserved solely for residents of the apartment building and it offers a delightful alternative to the beach. It is open from June to the end of September.
