    Welcome to Ravensprings, a delightful, large, self catering holiday house set in a quiet residential location. Built for the Mayor of Brighouse in 1896, the House is just full of character and has gorgeous period features. The spacious accommodation sleeps 16 (+ cots) easily. The House has a lovely aspect (south facing) comfortable furnishings and unique features make it The Ideal Place for Family and Friends, get togethers and Long Weekends, Celebrations and Reunions and Murder Mysteries, There is just so much to do in Yorkshire and Ravensprings makes a perfect holiday base. It's central location and easy access makes it ideal to explore the three counties of Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lancashire. The Dramatic North East Coastline is under 2 hours away, but then so too are the brightlights of Blackpool on the North West Coast, whilst to the North there is the stunning scenary of the Lake District and South the rolling Dales of Derbyshire.

    What better place to stay when you are only 10 - 15 minutes from lovely moorland countryside but have all the conveniences of a small town on the doorstep. Just 15 - 20 mins from Leeds City Centre with numerous shops, restaurants, theatres, galleries etc. Ravensprings offers visitors the opportunity to experience the Great Outdoors and an endless list of adventurous sports to enjoy within a short drive away. Explore the numerous sites and places of interests such as Haworth; Bronte country; Holmfirth; last of the summer wine, etc from a delightful base. Where else could you go down a mine, have a cuppa in the Wrinkly stocking and paraglide all in one day?     Set only 2 miles from the M62 it occupies a commanding position and is ideal for family reunions, large group, celebrations and touring holidays. Its' easy access and central location makes it the ideal place to explore Yorkshire: only a short drive away are the Dales and Moors with their fabulous scenery and miles of walking, riding, cycling etc., about 25 mins drive from Howarth; Bronte Country, 20mins from Hebden Bridge, locally there are numerous restaurants, lovely pubs with excellent menus, bars, nightclubs, art galleries, theatres, stately homes, film & TV locations (Last of the Summers Wine at Holmfirth) , 7 Golf Courses within 7 miles!, Heritage centres, Historical museums, Canal; barge hire, horse riding; you are literally spoiled for choice with plenty to occupy the whole family. Only 20 mins from Leeds City Centre by car, 45 mins from Manchester City Centre, 30 minutes from the Leeds/Bradford Airport it makes an ideal base for touring

    The gracious entrance Hall leads into the 34' sitting room with lovely mahogany panelling from the great Liner the Mauretania. It is amply furnished for up to 16 people to congregate and relax. It has a lovely open fire and a very pleasant aspect. The dining room overlooks a small park that has a model railway which is used at weekends (public welcome on open days). The room has a lovely ambiance and is very gracious with two dining tables one that will seat up to 12 people and a second that seats 6. Conveniently there is a hatch through from the kitchen. On the first floor are four unique bedrooms, a master bedroom with superking bed ensuite shower room, a double bedroom with carved full canopy four poster and an ensuite bathroom with double ended french bath (this bathroom can also be accessed from the hall). There is a also a pretty double bedroom with vanity unit. A smaller double bedroom with a wonderful antique oak french bed. There is also a large family bathroom with a heritage suite: power shower, 6' double ended bath, double washhand basins and bidet.

    On the 2nd floor there are 2 further large bedrooms and a spacious family bathroom, The main bedroom is a very large family bedroom with a round bed, twin beds both with guest beds, this is an ideal room for the children with lovely views to the countryside beyond, a double bedroom offering interesting views across the town to the hills beyond. Ravensprings is a lovely, homely, extremely comfortably furnished house with a bit of glamour and many unique features that make it a lovely base to enjoy the many, many experiences Yorkshire has to offer.     a. Ravensprings - Ravensprings is a large, unique gentleman's residence, with an elevated and sunny aspect in a quiet residential roada.
    b. The Front Garden - Town Size garden has various levels and there are swings on the lawn to the rear.

    d. The Grand Front Entrance. - The Entrance to the house is very gracious and South Facing.

Characterful Hall full of Period Features - The Hall has a large, etched glass, arched oak door, with oak panelling along the walls, original lincrusta below the dado, mosaic floor, hand crafted bannisters and ornate, original radiator. It just oozes character and reflects the extravagance that was vested in Ravensprings.
    f. Gorgeous, Spacious Sitting Room Southern Aspect - The fabulous sitting room is an excellent reception in which to hold family get togethers and parties. It is comfortably furnished for up to 18 adults to sit and relax.
    g. The Sitting Room Northern Aspect - This huge room is 34'x 16', has a welcoming open fire, unique panelling from the great ocean liner the Mauritania, two large TVs and 4 large radiators.
    h. Sitting Room second Seating Area - This part of the Sitting room has it's own TV, music centre and DVD player.
    i. Dining Room - This elegant, sunny room has lovely views across to Ravensprings miniature steam railway park. Seating 16 people at two tables one seating 10/12 the other seats 6. There is a convenient hatch from the kitchen through to this room.
    j. The Entrance from the Hall to the Dining Room - This is just to give an idea of the convenient layout of the dining room which has a hatch from the kitchen.
    k. The Kitchen - The kitchen is mostly original with a hatch through to the dining room, there is a dishwasher, double oven gas and electric, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, Smeg fridge. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron plus a freezer. There is a large breakfast room attached to the Kitchen as well as a Formal dining room with hatch.
    l. Utility Room - With Washing Machine, Tumbledrier, iron, ironing board, clothes horse and freezer
    m. Breakfast Room - The Breakfast Room next to the Kitchen and Courtyard.
    n. Four Poster Bedroom with En Suite - This GORGEOUS, HAND-CARVED, FOUR POSTER, KINGSIZE BED, ensures that you slumber in style. Super comfy mattress which ensures a good night's sleep. Pleasent panoramic town views (not over-looked)
    o. En Suite Bathroom. - This room is en suite to the four poster bedroom but is also accessible via the hall. It has a double ended antique french bath, power shower etc.
    p. The Huge Super Kingsize Bedroom with Cot bed - This huge bed can hold most of the family! The orthopaedic mattress and ensuite shower room add further luxury. There is a victorian rocking crib in this room.

    t. The Edwardian Bedroom with Vanity Unit - This pretty bedroom has a quaint edwardian wrought iron bed with super sprung mattres. There is a Vanity Unit in the corner.
    u. Lovely Kingsize Bedroom Second Floor - Lovely Kingsize Bedroom This Gorgeous kingsize bed has a wonderful antique wardrobe and dressing table. Wonderful Panoramic townscape distant country views.
    v. Family Bathroom Second Floor - A lovely sunny quirky bathroom, with a Victorian, Scottish bath and flowered basin and lavatory.
    w. Massive 2nd floor family bedroom - It is impossible to show all of this room in one photograph it is loved by children especially as there is a kingsize circular bed and 4 fully sprung mattresses single beds as well. With views of the local houses and fields beyond it is above every other house in the area.
    x. Ravensprings - A large self catering corner house which can easily sleep 16 guests.
    y. Local Petting Farm - There are several local petting farms, see information sheet supplied when booked.
    Yorkshire Sculpture Park - 20 mins drive a really good day out and walk around, with gallery and restaurant and numerous works scattered amidst lovely parkland.
    z. Diggerland - The ultimate for all aspiring JCB drivers, off roaders and boy who like Big Toys. About 20 mins up M62, try to get discount tickets.

    z1Brighouse Canal - Hire a barge or take a trip from Hebdon Bridge.
