Heritage Mews enjoys an excellent, peaceful location in Stratford-upon-Avon's Old Town, within minutes walk of the town centre, river, Shakespeare Houses and Gardens, and many excellent restaurants, pubs, traditional tea rooms, bars and shops. The Royal Shakespeare Company's Courtyard Theatre is just six minutes walk.

You can walk into town past nearby Holy Trinity Church, one of the most beautiful parish churches in Britain situated on the banks of the Avon, and along the riverside footpath past an old pedestrian chain ferry and the celebrated Dirty Duck pub, with a terrace overlooking the river. There are also beautiful riverside walks out into adjacent Warwickshire countryside.

This delightful two bedroom cottage has a sunny, secluded patio garden, free Wi-Fi broadband and the added benefit of private off-road parking for two cars.

Heritage Mews is available for weekly rental throughout the year and for short breaks from the end of October until March (excluding Christmas and New Year). You can stay two nights or longer; your arrival day and length of stay can be flexible, depending on existing bookings.

    Heritage Mews location - there are excellent road links, with the M40 (Junction 15) 10km away - convenient for visiting the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) and Stoneleigh Park Exhibition and Conference Centre near Coventry. Stratford-upon-Avon train station is a few minutes from the cottage by taxi.There are direct trains from London Marylebone - journey time is just over two hours.

    'Things to see and do'

    • Visit Shakespeare's Birthplace and the two other beautifully-preserved Shakespeare Houses & Gardens in town - Nash's House and Hall's Croft in Old Town.
    • Take a City Sightseeing bus tour of the town centre and nearby villages. The bus stops outside Hall's Croft - 3 or 4 minutes walk. The tour includes Anne Hathaway's Cottage in the village of Shottery and Mary Arden's House in Wilmcote.
    • Nearby Holy Trinity Church (you can see the spire from the cottage), situated on the banks of the River Avon and where you can visit Shakespeare's grave - 3 minutes walk.
    • Summer Craft Markets on Waterside - every Sunday from July to the end of September.
    • Boating, sightseeing and restaurant cruises on the beautiful River Avon.
    • Summer outdoor plays on the banks of the River Avon and at the Shakespeare Houses.
    • Walk across the Old Tramway Bridge to the Butterfly Farm.
    • Royal Shakespeare Company performance at The Courtyard Theatre; there are also interesting back-stage tours
    • Award-winning daily guided Town Walk and Ghost Walk.
    • Stratford's weekly market - on Fridays.
    • Christmas Lights and Christmas Markets from the last Thursday in November. Stratford-upon-Avon Christmas Lights are spectacular and regarded as amongst the best in the UK.
    • Visit nearby Warwick Castle - Britain's greatest medieval experience.
    • A number of National Trust houses and gardens all are within a short drive - Charlecote Park, Baddesley Clinton, Packwood House, Coughton Court, Upton House and Hidcote Manor Garden.
    • The delightful Cotswold villages of Chipping Campden, Broadway and Blockley are well worth a visit.
    • Compton Verney - Warwickshire's award winning art gallery in a Grade 1 listed mansion set in spectacular parklands.
    • Birmingham city centre with the 'Mailbox', stylish shopping malls and Symphony Hall is about an hour by train.
