The Beacon is a large stone built house about 100 years old, and it is situated on the coastline with magnificent sea views from all the main rooms. It is just a short walk from the harbour (photo below) and offers excellent opportunities for bird watching, walking, touring, sea angling, sub aqua diving or relaxing on the beach. Location: St.Abbs is a picturesque fishing village which offers an ideal retreat from modern living. The coastline is rugged with sandy coves, the nearest being Coldingham Sands which can be reached by a pleasant coastal path in just a few minutes. In the summer season daily boat trips are available to view the large colony of seabirds on St.Abbs Head, which is a National Trust nature reserve. The nature reserve can also be reached by a cliff top path, which provides excellent views over the Berwickshire coast, north to Fife and south to Northumbria. The harbour is also popular with sea anglers and sub aqua divers.
