| LUbec is the easternmost point in the USA, a fishing village on the bay of Fundy, surrounded by its dramatic tidal waters and rocky pine-y shores. One may enjoy hiking, whale and bird watching, eating lobsters or blueberries, clean air, cool nights, bright stars, lovely fogs. Photographers and artists treasure the light here.
My place, Spring and Summer Downeast Lodging (at the corner of Spring and Summer Streets) is a 19th century wood frame house typical of the area, with a front porch for rocking chairs, a huge maple tree in the garden, a deck where you can enjoy your morning tea or coffee. The second floor may be used as a 3 bedroom apartment for 4 people or for individuals to enjoy by the room. There are a full bath, a kitchenette, two lounges. LInens supplied. No smoking. No pets.
Rates are modest, particularly for those who can profit by the currency exchange.
Please note: Lubec is lovely all year round and particularly fine in the autumn when the trees change
color.
