The old stocks on the green and the Market Cross in the square are reminders of medieval times.
Buildings which date back as far as the 10th century are now home to many fine award winning restaurants and gastro pubs, many serving local,organic & seasonal produce.
Interior design, antique furniture, art galleries and independent fashion shops are a treat for the keen shopper.
