Cats Abbey is an enchanting Cotswold farm yard converted into a stunning holiday let, which sleeps up to 24 people. It is located just off the A40, about 5 miles west of Burford, with spectacular views across the Windrush Valley.
The big barn has a magnificent high timbered roof, and a gallery looking down over an open plan living area, with a stone chimney and wood burning stove. A baronial dining table for 20 stands on a warm flag stoned floor, under a candle chandelier.
The kitchen is a cooks dream, with an Alpha cooker, big gas range with huge oven, and two microwave ovens, one with multiple functions. A separate scullery has a big pan sink and two dishwashers. The large American fridge freezer has ice water and an ice maker in the door, and a wine fridge holds 10 bottles of wine and 12 cans of beer.
Various catering options are available from B and B to full catering.
Adjoining the barn is an open fronted terrace facing south across a landscaped courtyard. For winter months sliding glass doors will keep out the weather, and the stone flagged floor has under-floor heating, cosy seating and a wood burning stove. At the far end is a two room family suite, with cots, baby alarms etc.
The quality of the accommodation, attention to detail, and the delightful setting make Cats Abbey a gem of a holiday home. |
