| It is a four-bedroomed house (sleeps 7 - two double bedrooms, one twin, one single). It is normally used for holiday lets and is close to York Minster in the middle of the city of York. York is best explored on foot and the house is within easy walking distance of the city's shops, theatres, resaurants, museums, pubs and other attractions. York is also an excellent base for the Yorkshire coast, North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales.
The house is one of character and was built at the end of the 19th century in a central and sought after area of the city in a street leading off Lord Mayor's Walk. It is terraced with a forecourt at the front and paved walled yard at the back and is attractively decorated and very homely and comfortable. Parking in front of the house is resident's only but free with a residents' permit which can be borrowed.
Downstairs are the sitting room, which has its original Victorian fireplace, the dining room and the kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped and has a gas cooker, dishwasher, electric fridge/freezer and microwave.
Upstairs on the first floor there are three bedrooms - one double, one twin and one single - and the bathroom. There are pillows and duvets on the beds.. A cot is also available.
Upstairs on the second floor is a double bedded room with adjacent shower room and toilet.
The house has recently been refurbished. It is centrally heated. There is a coal-effect fire in both the dining room and the sitting room as well. There is also a remote control colour television, radio and clock-radios. Other things that may be of use are a washing machine, an iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, food mixer and garden furniture. |
