Welcome to Hafod Grove House; a large, self-catering Coast and Country House that enjoys a gloriously tranquil and picturesque setting within the beautiful Pembrokeshire National Park. Comfortably accommodating up to 12 guests + cots (18 + well-behaved dogs if combined with Hafod Villa) this historical, gentleman's residence affords gorgeous countryside and sea views from the front bedrooms and the delightful garden which extend to almost 2 acres of private grounds with parking for up to 4 cars or more.

Offering Spacious, comfortable and diverse accommodation Hafod Grove is located in the most interesting and diverse part of The Park, Hafod Grove is within walking distance of the sea at charming, Ceibwr Bay (which becomes a nursery for seal pups in Autumn) and the famous Coastal Path with its dramatic cliff top views and stunning rock formations. There are numerous delightful walks on your doorstep with the glorious Preseli Hills and Gwaun Valley offering varied and delightful scenary. From the cliffs of Ceibwr there are frequent sitings of dolphins, seals, porpoises and basking sharks, and even whales and turtles at times. A pair of rare red kites are frequently seen flying over the grounds and there are numerous varieties of rare and fascinating birds to be spotted especially around the estuaries of The Tivy and Nevern both within 4 mls.

Close by there are the three fabulous sandy beaches; Poppit Sands, Newport Traeth and Parrog with rock pools, caves and vast expanses of sand with safe bathing and easy vehicular access. There are numerous sports and activities available, sites to see and places to visit and many picturesque pubs, bars and restaurants to sample.

Located between the bustling market town of Cardigan with its Castle, shops, theatre, gallery bars and restaurants, and the quaint Village of Newport with its Boat and Golf Club both open to visitors (have lunch with a fabulous view across Newport Bay from the golf club), art galleries, pubs and cafes.

In between there are many delightful country and coastal pubs and restaurants to enjoy so why not walk, bike or drive into to the delightfully picturesque village of Nevern just a mile or so away and pop into the churchyard and see the Bleeding Yew and Celtic Cross and then have a good pub lunch in the Trewern Arms. For the adventurous there are numerous sports and activities locally such as walking and cycling locally and along the beautiful Gwaun Valley (stop at Bessies famous pub for a jug of beer) or horse riding, mountain biking or walking over the Preseli’s, walk part of the coastal path from Ceibwr to Newport totally gorgeous or go for a beach ride on Newport Sands. For the more adventurous there are activity centres for diving, coasteering rock climbing, wind surfing, hang gliding etc.

For the children how about own a pony day at Yet Wen Riding Stables (book early) at Brynberian half a mile up the hill you can visit Pentre Ifan the pre-historic burial chamber. There are several local castles to explore including Cardigan and Kilgerran both with visitor’s centres and cafes, St. Dogmaels Priory with its watermill, duck pond and cafe selling homemade produce, its new visitors centre and outdoor theatre in summer, Castell Henllys the iron age fort ‘as seen on tv’, The Shire Horse Farm and Cardigan Island Farm, the Mwldan theatre at Cardigan with its’ live shows, gallery, cinema and cafe. A more commercial fun day out can be had about 45mins away with a visit to Oakwood Theme Park or for younger children: Folly Farm. How about a day trip to Ireland from nearby Fishguard Harbour with it’s Aquarium and busy little town quite a favourite with artists.

With frequent sitings of the rare red kite flying over the grounds of the house and the numbers and variety of birds in the are especially along the coastline and at the estuaries of the Rivers Nevern and Teifi the area is a Twitchers Delight! The abundance of wildlife both flora and fauna makes this location a delight for nature-lovers, artists, and the highly stressed! There is excellent trout and salmon fishing to be had further up the Teifi at Cenarth. You can also hire canoes and Kayaks at Kilgerran.. In Autumn our local Ceibwr Bay becomes a nursery for seal pups and you would be very unlucky not to see these delightful animals from the cliffs – best not to get too near because mum may not like it though! The rock formations at Ceibwr are stunning and it is considered a real beauty spot. Located within just 7 miles of the three counties of Cardiganshire, Camarthanshire and Pembrokeshire Hafod Grove makes an ideal touring base with just so much on offer to explore. The numerous galleries, craft trails, horticultural and agricultural shows, antiques fairs, exhibitions and events for all ages

HAFOD GROVE HOUSE, WINTER - Snow in January, still a lovely place to stay. Wrap up warm and walk to the beach and some way along the Coastal Path and then come back and have that casserole that has been slowly cooking in the Aga for hours, in the lovely snug kitchen. Then sit and relax with a brandy in front of a roaring open fire.

HAFOD GROVE, CEIBWR BAY - This lovely little cove is less than 1.5 mls from Hafod Grove and both properties and provides a lovely walk via a footpath through the village and back along the lane. It is a popular little local beach for bathing and barbeques. In autumn the cove with it's caves and rocks becomes a little haven for seals and their pups.
HAFOD GROVE, PEMBROKESHIRE COASTAL PATH - The Coastal Path is less than 1.5mls away from both properties and so well within walking distance. There are some lovely local footpaths too and maps are supplied in both properties.
HAFOD GROVE, THE LANE - This pretty lane leads from both properties down to the sea, in spring it is lined by almost a garden of wild flowers in the hedgerow. There is a lovely footpath route from the village down to the sea.

HAFOD VILLA 10. HUGE GARDEN - The cottage has an enormous, gently sloping garden with ideal for children and dogs. There are swings and a large parking area for up to 4 vehicles. Whilst part of a large gentleman's residence originally this secluded and very safe area of garden is very private. The lane runs behind the little woodland so the cottage is set well back from the road down a short, level access, private track.

zBEACH , POPPIT SANDS - Poppit Sands are within 4mls North of the house. Beautiful soft, sandy beach that is the estuary of the River Teifi that flows past Cardigan and St. Dogmaels. A popular beach with a good little cafe, very unspoiled. Ideal for families.
zCARN INGLI VIEW - The Presells' offer lovely walking and riding country. Drive up the back of Newport to spare your legs and walk the final heights of Carn Ingli the panoramic views are quite wonderful.
zGOLF AT NEWPORT GOLF CLUB - GOLF AT NEWPORT GOLF CLUB Just 4 miles from the house, The Clubhouse is open to non-residents and has wonderful panoramic views over Newport Bay so is a great place for lunch and drinks
