| Cycle Hire, Boating and Croquet. - Cycles may be hired for the day or for the week from the hotel.
From Easter to October there are also small rowing boats for hire or large boats may be hired from the Meare boathouse. Croquet is played in the hotel gardens adjacent to the Meare. An ideal spot to watch the boats go by and the glorious wild life. Golf on one of East Anglias' finest courses. - Enjoy a 20% discount on Green Fees. Our 18 hole course over gorse and heather coastal country side offers a challenge and is playable all year round. You do need to bring a handicap certificate with you to play golf and pre book tee times at the Pro Shop.... Ideal venue for seaside weddings, functions or cor - Seating up to 120 guests with catering, bar and full wedding planning service. The experience management team can advise on a variety of menus, entertainment and the little personal touches that will make your event special. The beach - Some apartments overlook the beach, and all are only a short walk from the shore.Others overlook the tennis courts and have a sundeck or small garden. The Lakeside Gardens and wildlife - Enjoy dining al fresco or a pre dinner drink in the garden. All year round there is wildlife to see. In January a Great White Egret is an annual visitor and Herons, Swans, Geese and Ducks visit over the year. Recently Otters have been spotted particularly in the evening. Locally or on the golf course there are Red Deer, Muntjac Deer, Stoat,Rabbit and Fox, White Tailed Fish Eagle and of course many varieties of Gull. The Meare - Thorpeness - A unique seaside village on the Suffolk Coast close to Aldeburgh Thorpeness Hotel Restaurant - Enjoy an excellent dinner in the restaurant or for a more informal meal choose from the bar and terrace menu.
