A Large 2 bedroom period Corner apartment (circa 1780) in the heart of medieval Rye and at the centre of this Historic building. (sleeps 4-6 people)
This wonderful 1st and 2nd floor period apartment is above 'The Apothecary' currently a Coffee House but originally the 18th and 19th century equivalent of a chemist !.
The 15 x 20 ft lounge has original features such as high ceilings ,an open fireplace, shutters and a wonderful corner window looking down the high street and towards the Romney marsh in the distance.
It also contains some more recent features such as a television,free to air viewing,a DVD player.wire-less broadband access and gas fired central heating throughout the apartment!
The kitchen dining room (off the main lobby) is divided into 2 by some of the handmade kitchen cabinets in the middle. There is a six seater dining table and chairs and the kitchen area comes with a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave,a fridge and a freezer!
Also off the main lobby is the front door and the stairs leading to the second floor. This made up of 2 large en suite bedrooms,in fact, they are so nice we have named them!
The Georgian Room has an original 18th century king size 4 poster poster bed,a TV/DVD player and an en suite bathroom (with a bath).
The Corner Room has a 19th century satinwood bed, a TV/DVD player and a spacious en suite bathroom (with a corner shower).This room also has a corner window with superb views down the high street and beyond.
Note:The lobby on the 1st floor leading from the lounge has a hidden under stairs toilet and a shower and an additional door leading to the main lobby-very useful when 1 or 2 people are sleeping in the lounge on the fold down beds provided.
To the rear of the outside of building there is communal use of a small first floor roof garden. Laid with decking this area has wonderful views of hidden Rye and the Church beyond.
