| Back Garden - The garden is big enough for football, badminton, croquet or, as our boys like to play in the summer, night rugby! There is a spreading walnut tree and swings for younger children. Bunk Beds - We always have extra kids along on our holidays - so the bunk beds provide more sleeping options as well as a great place to play on rainy days. Emsworth at High Tide - Our bit of Chichester Harbour is so tidal you spend all the time looking out to see if the sea is coming or going! This was taken from near the sailing club which is just a short walk along the shore from Tide Cottage. Emsworth at Low Tide - When the sea is out, the landscape completely changes with a fascinating selection of birdlife, the boats marooned on the mudflats, and about 20 minutes walk along the coastal path near Langstone Bridge, a shipwreck that is covered by sea at high tide. Once, we watched paratroopers practicing above Hayling Island, the plane taking off and landing and the people parachuting down over and over again. Magic! Master Bedroom - We got a massive bed for the master bedroom because our children were in the habit of climbing into the bed with us at night. But the bed is just soooo comfortable, we've banned the kids from joining us. It's so good to be selfish sometimes! Second Bedroom - The second bedroom has twin beds as well as a bunk bed for any extra kids coming on holiday. It looks out into the back garden and has a wonderful blackout blinds that keep the kids asleep for ages! Sitting Room - The sitting room has Grandaddy's old reclining chair, a rocking chair and a sofa bed that unfolds to a full size double bed (none of your poxy tiny sofa beds). There is a DVD player and a combi TV-VCR PLUS some DVDs and tapes to watch. The South Downs in the Snow - We thought the South Downs were fantastic in the summer but we hadn't reckoned on how magnificent it would be in the snow! There were even people on snowboards ... but we were happy with one sled and the dustbin lid. |
