This 17th gatehouse is situated on the edge of the village of Churchstoke, it is surrounded by trees, has a lawned garden and patio and is ideal for family fun and dining 'al fresco'. The lodge breathes character and charm, you can feel yourself 'stepping back in time'amidst the beamed sloping ceilings,half timbered walls, huge 'inglenook' firepalce, perfect for roaring winter fires and an original bread oven in the dining room. The bedrooms are 'Olde Worlde' and with the modern bathroom and quality kitchen, this is the perfect romantic location for two, or a family holiday. The property is surrounded by countryside with scenic walks and cycle trails with Offa's Dyke, the Clun Forest, Long Mynd and Stretton Hills known as 'Little Switzerland' all close by. Discover historic Shrewsbury, medieval Ludlow with its castle, antique shops and gourmet restaurants, Powys Castle,World Heritage Site Iron Bridge Gorge, National Trust properties and even a day at Aberdovey beach.
