This charming cottage has been lovingly restored and furnished to a very high standard to provide a warm and welcoming holiday or short break retreat. Sticky End is located in the conservation village of Cottesmore in England 's smallest county, Rutland . Within a 5 minute walk are the village pub, The Sun Inn plus the shop and post office, a traditional fish and chip restaurant and St Nicholas' Church. Sticky End is an ideal location for exploring the region including the nearby busy market & impressive public school towns of Oakham and Uppingham, and is only 10 miles from historic Stamford (filming for the 2005 movie Pride & Prejudice and TV's Middlemarch). Rutland is a truly unspoiled rural gem in the heart of Middle England. "Multum in Parvo", the motto of the County of Rutland translates from Latin as "Much in Little"....the same is true of Sticky End. Rutland Water, along with the surrounding countryside and villages, provide a beautiful back drop for sailing, water sports, fishing, cycling, bird watching, golf and walking. Traditional country pubs offer excellent cuisine, stately homes such as Belvoir Castle , magnificent Burghley House (home of the famous Burghley Horse Trials) and National Trust properties including Belton House are within a short drive, whilst shopping tends to be "unique and antique" and a pleasurable world away from the shopping centre chains. Geoff Hamilton's legacy of his famous Barnsdale Gardens are close by. At Sticky End you will find a delightful holiday or weekend escape, relax in a cottage full of curios and character, yet still enjoy all your home comforts: Downstairs • Oak beamed sitting room with open inglenook log fire • Quaint study / library with books/ DVD 's & CD's for your stay • Traditional pine kitchen with cosy dining area • Separate utility room / cloakroom with washing machine • Bathroom also with shower Upstairs • Main double bedroom with washbasin & en suite toilet • Comfortable second double bedroom Outside: • Front cobbled cottage garden • Charming rear courtyard garden with garden furniture and barbecue facility • Private garage for secure parking and storage of bicycles, fishing equipment, etc
