|Built in 1901 as the horse stables of the Northfield Hotel, the Old Stables B&B offers old world charm combined with modern amenities and stylish interiors. The three large rooms are all decorated in 2012 with quality Laura Ashley furniture and soft furnishings, light carpets, modern shower and toilet amenities.
Rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs + DVD players, free-view channels, WIFI, minibars, new shower amenities (2 double rooms with en-suite shower rooms, 1 twin room with a private shower room), complimentary toiletries, hair-dryers, heated towel rails, luxurious 1500 sprung mattresses, goose down duvets and pillows and tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk provided daily. Every room has travel books and maps of the area - and we provide a mountain bike hire service directly from the B&B. The Full English Breakfast consists of local produce - e.g. award winning organic pork sausages and home-made marmalade and jam.
The Old Stables is situated conveniently on the lower slopes of the beautiful North Hill right next to the Exmoor National Park and to the start of Britain's longest walk - the 630 mile South-West Coastal Path. The sea shore and the tranquil Blenheim Gardens are only a minute's walk away - the main street of Minehead with its shops, cafes, entertainment and the historic steam trains being only a 5 minute level walk.
