|Located on the western edge of the Scottish Highlands is the 12,000 acre Glencarron Estate, home to Stag Lodge.
Fully refurbished in 2013, the lodge comfortably sleeps up to eight in four bedrooms and is a wonderful place to enjoy a long weekend or relaxing week whilst exploring the local area.
The Victorian estate workers lodge may look very simple from outside but step inside and a whole new impression will emerge. Every room has been tastefully decorated in neutral tones and furnished to a very high standard.
The very useful utility room is the first room you will discover, here you can store muddy boots and dry wet dogs. Clothes can also be cleaned and dried in preparation for the next day in the washing machine and tumble dryer.
The well equipped kitchen/diner is ideal for all occasions with its elegant wood units, classic pine table and dark work surfaces. Effortlessly incorporated into the kitchen are an array of appliances including, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, twin oven, ceramic hob and microwave. There is also plenty of storage space for the weekly shop.
At the front of the cottage is the lovely spacious lounge where you can relax, watch TV or take advantage of the cottage's WiFi. The leather sofas are extremely comfortable and with the open fire this wonderful room is great for chilly winter evenings. Sliding doors open out on to the garden and wicker chairs by the doors are the best place to look out for the local wildlife or admire the glorious views.
The Master Bedroom with double bed is located on the ground floor of the cottage. The bedroom has beautiful views of the glen and garden and can take advantage of the downstairs shower room either using it as an exclusive en-suite or second family bathroom.
The three twin bedrooms are situated on the first floor and are all lovely and bright with plenty of storage space and full size single beds, perfect for adults or children. The family bathroom fitted with bath, sink and loo is also on this floor.
Stag Lodge is a wonderful place to stay at any time of the year. In the winter it is a warm and cosy haven for the chilly evenings and in the summer when the days are long watch the sunset from the comfort of the living room. A number of outdoor activities are also available on the estate and can be booked prior to your arrival, these include fishing, stalking and shooting. The estate is home to three peaks over 3000ft and a further eight are within a short drive of the cottage. There are also pretty villages, whiskey distilleries and historic castles to visit whilst staying at Stag Lodge.
