Kingsey Farm is a family-run, working farm, with 300 acres of arable land which is used to grow wheat, grass and oilseed rape. The cottages are 5 miles to Princes Risborough, with main line trains to London from 45 minutes, and two and a half miles to Thame, a lovely market town with traditional high street, selection of shops and restaurants.
The Hayloft was originally built as a 6 horse stable in the 1880's, later used as the milking parlour, and was converted into fully furnished holiday accommodation in 2007. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with one bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor.
As you enter the property, the living area is on the right hand side, and the kitchen on the left. The sitting room has two large sofas, a television, DVD player, plus a table with 6 chairs.
The fully fitted kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave and a fridge/freezer. There is a washing machine available for your use in the laundry room. The property includes linen and towels, and a clean set of bedding and towels is provided for each week of stay for the guests to put on at their convenience.
There is a ground floor bedroom with double bed and wardrobe, and a bathroom with power shower. Upstairs there are two twin bedrooms and a bathroom.
The family has been farming in Kingsey since the 1940's, when one of the current owners moved here when he was 11 years old, and he remembers hand-milking the cows in the Stalls, and the land being worked with horse-drawn implements. He remembers Land Girls working on this farm during the war and Prisoners-of-War being kept at Tythrop.
Please enquire if you do not want a Saturday arrival/departure day. This property takes one week bookings as a minimum.
