|Our two self catering apartments, The Byre Cottage and The Dairy Cottage, have been formed by conversion of the old Byre building adjacent to the farmhouse. We are located around 3 miles north of Lochgilphead looking towards Dunadd Hill, the ancient capital of Dalriada and beyond that the Moine Mhor (great moss) National Nature Reserve and the River Add. The Crinan Canal and the sea are minutes away and we are close to the Neolithic Monuments of Kilmartin Glen. We are centrally located for exploration of the whole of Argyll. Please note that our postcode is shared, so, although the first map is
accurate, both Multimap and Google Maps are slightly out. The farm is beyond the location shown on these, on the other side of the A816, a distance of around 200 metres.
The cottages have been furnished and decorated in Country Cottage style with homely touches and feature work by Scottish Landscape artists, including local "colourist" John Lowrie Morrison (JOLOMO)
Both cottages have electric Central Heating and the accommodation consists of:
Living/dining area with comfortable seating, television and DVD player (plus a selection of DVDs), dining table and four dining chairs.
The living area is open plan to the kitchen which is fully equipped with ample storage, electric cooker with oven, refrigerator with small freezer compartment, washer/dryer, microwave oven, kettle & toaster plus all crockery, pots and pans etc.
There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, each with chest of drawers and ample wardrobe space.
Each bathroom has wash hand basin, toilet and bath, with an over-bath electric shower.
You will be assured of a warm welcome from the resident proprietors, Jean and Douglas Campbell, who's family have farmed Achnashelloch since 1943.
