Situated on a 65 acre working croft on the west coast of Skye, Heron Cottage offers the perfect opportunity for guests who wish to relax in the peace of the countryside.
Yet it's just a short 20 minute drive from the island's capital (Portree) and well placed for visiting Dunvegan Castle, the coral beaches, Neist Point Lighthouse, Talisker Distillery and all of North Skye.
Heron Cottage faces west and overlooks Loch Bracadale and the Ose river estuary towards the unique mountains known as MacLeod’s Tables. Sunsets are often spectacular.
The estuary is the home territory of herons, ducks, oyster catchers and seals. It has recently become the summer home of a flock of geese. If you are lucky, you may see the local otters in the river mouth.
